With staff augmentation, you get engineers, and you manage them yourself. With a managed .NET team, we provide the tech lead and the delivery process, and we answer for results against the SLA. You set priorities and approve deliverables. If you already have strong engineering management and only need more hands, our team extension service is a better fit.
Managed .NET dedicated team
A senior .NET engineering team that builds, modernizes, integrates, and maintains your enterprise applications. We know how to add AI features when your roadmap calls for them and run the team on ASP.NET Core, Azure, and current .NET.

Hire dedicated .net developers
A managed team is a group of our engineers who work only on your product. A Blackthorn Vision tech lead fully leads this team and manages sprints, code reviews, and releases. We hire, onboard, and replace engineers, and take overall responsibility for all daily engineering management that would fall on your CTO’s shoulders. You set priorities and accept the work.
Another benefit is that the same team can do different kinds of work: keep an old system running, migrate it to modern .NET, or connect it to Azure OpenAI or a machine learning model. You get one group for it all, with no separate AI contractor to coordinate.
Difficulties you face when hiring .NET developers
-
Senior .NET talent is too expensive and too slow to hire
Experienced ASP.NET Core and Azure engineers are expensive to hire and often difficult to find. Beyond salary, the cost includes recruitment fees and onboarding, and a new engineer can’t immediately start contributing at full speed. While the position is open, planned features either stay in the backlog or are added to an already busy team.
-
A separate AI team adds another layer of coordination
When one company builds the .NET application, and another builds the AI part, every change to an API contract requires extra communication. When bugs appear, they land in the gap between the two teams. Your own people end up coordinating vendors instead of shipping.
-
Legacy .NET systems need modernization
Many enterprise systems still run on .NET Framework 4.x, with Web Forms pages that have no equivalent in modern .NET and WCF services that need a new hosting approach. Teams already on modern .NET have a deadline too – Microsoft ends support for .NET 8 and .NET 9. This work requires engineers able to read old patterns and ship new ones within the same sprint.
-
.NET teams now must have AI skills
Modern product roadmaps include document summarization and semantic search built into existing screens. Most also require different kinds of assistants. A .NET team that has never called Azure OpenAI from C# or tracked token costs in production can learn to do that, but on your budget. Or you can find a vendor who already knows how to handle this work.
What our managed .NET teams deliver
Hire full stack .net developer
Companies that hire .NET developers through us get a managed team that builds enterprise applications and AI-enabled features on ASP.NET Core, Azure, and .NET 10. When you hire dedicated .NET developers from Blackthorn Vision, one team covers new development, upgrades, AI integration, and long-term support, so you don’t need to look for other vendors when any of these areas need to change.
Enterprise .NET application development
We design and deliver new products and features on ASP.NET Core, Web API, Blazor, and microservices. You can bring in .NET developers for hire for a single feature, or you can keep a full team on the product. In both cases, a senior tech lead owns the architecture and reviews every change.
.NET modernization and migration
We migrate .NET Framework applications to .NET 10 and shift on-premises workloads to Azure. We also modernize systems by splitting monoliths into microservices and making apps scale-ready. When you hire a dedicated .NET developer for a migration, the work goes in stages. The old system keeps serving users until each part is ready to switch over. See our application modernization services.
AI integration into .NET systems
We connect Azure OpenAI, ML models, and automation to the .NET applications you already run, using Semantic Kernel and ML.NET inside your existing codebase. Clients who hire .NET programmers from us also get production details handled. These include prompt and response logging, usage limits, fallback behavior when the model service is slow, and rules for model data access.
Maintenance and long-term support
When the system is live, we offer production support. It includes agreed SLAs, performance tuning, security patching, and planned version upgrades. The engineers you chose for modernization or development are the same people who support and maintain the system. As a result, the time from alert to fix shrinks to hours.
Why choose Blackthorn Vision for your managed .NET team
-
Building on .NET since 2009
.NET is our core platform. Our engineers work on .NET Framework and modern .NET, including .NET 10, alongside the broader Microsoft stack: Azure, Blazor, gRPC, and SignalR. Years of working across different versions have given us a practical understanding of what changes during upgrades, where issues tend to appear, and how to modernize while keeping the system running.
-
.NET and AI within one managed team
The same team that builds your .NET application can also integrate ML models or AI agents. That means fewer handoffs, less coordination, and one team responsible for both the application and its AI capabilities. Blackthorn Vision is a Microsoft-partnered .NET and AI development company helping enterprise teams build and modernize complex software products, with both capabilities under one roof.
-
ISO 27001 security for regulated industries
Heavily regulated industries need their code and data to be handled securely. We hold ISO 27001 certification, reflecting a documented information security management system with defined controls around access, security processes, and risk management that you can review as part of your compliance and audit requirements.
-
Long-term partnerships averaging 5+ years
Such continuity means the team working with you develops a deep understanding of your codebase, architecture, business rules, internal processes, and product roadmap. When a new project starts, they are ready to work. You avoid repeating past mistakes and know these people understand your vision and carry knowledge from one project to another.

How Blackthorn Vision manages your .NET team
-
01
Requirements assessment
We start with understanding the work, not a predefined team size. We review your architecture, .NET version, AI requirements, SLAs, and roadmap to determine the engineering capacity you would need. If one experienced .NET developer can do the job, we don’t build a bigger team.
We hand you over a written assessment and proposed team structure.
-
02
Team composition
Once we understand the work and scope, we select the right people. We start with the senior engineer or tech lead who will own the technical side of the engagement. Then, we add engineers and specialists around them. You can interview the proposed team if you wish. By the end of this stage, you receive a team roster with roles and seniority.
-
03
Kickoff sprint
During the first sprint, the team gains access to the systems, works through the existing code, identifies key architectural decisions, and learns important documents. By the second week, they are usually ready to contribute code. You get initial architecture documentation and the first pull request.
-
04
Ongoing managed delivery
Once the team is up and running, the tech lead takes responsibility for the technical day-to-day. They handle sprint planning, code reviews, architecture decisions, and coordination with your team. You stay involved where needed or where you want, especially when a technical decision affects the roadmap or priorities. The tech lead prepares a monthly report covering delivery progress and technical issues.
-
05
Maintenance and scaling
The team does not have to stay the same as the product evolves. We can add engineers during periods of higher demand, bring in additional AI expertise, reduce capacity when a major phase is complete, or run modernization work alongside feature development. You can add temporary capacity without changing the people responsible for the core product.
FAQ
-
What is the difference between a managed .NET team and staff augmentation?
-
Can your .NET team also handle AI integration?
Yes, our engineers build AI features in C# with Semantic Kernel and Azure OpenAI Service, inside your solution. For models that run inside the application, such as classification or anomaly detection, we use ML.NET, and we expose models trained in Azure ML as endpoints your .NET services call. The team also covers the production side, including prompt and response logging, usage limits, and what the application does when the model service is slow or down.
-
Do you work with legacy .NET Framework codebases?
Yes, it’s the starting point for many of our clients. We work with .NET Framework 4.x applications, WCF services, Web Forms, and COM interop. We migrate in stages, moving one part at a time to new .NET code while the old application keeps running.
Web Forms pages need a new UI, often in Blazor, because modern .NET does not support Web Forms, while many WCF services can move to CoreWCF with limited changes.
Our migration target is .NET 10, a long-term support release covered through November 2028.
-
How do you handle code quality and security in a managed model?
A senior engineer reviews every change before it merges, and CI pipelines run automated tests and static analysis on each build. Under our ISO 27001 certification, access to your systems and data follows documented controls, and each engineer gets only the permissions they need. The monthly health report tracks delivery and code quality.
-
What seniority levels are in a managed .NET team?
Every managed team is led by a senior .NET engineer or tech lead who owns architecture and code review. Supporting roles match the work: middle and senior developers for feature delivery, plus a modernization specialist, DevOps engineer, or QA automation engineer where the project needs one. We agree on the mix during the requirements assessment and adjust it when needed.
-
Can we scale the team up or down based on workload?
Yes, when the workload grows, we add engineers who go through the same onboarding as the core team. When a phase ends, we reduce the team within the notice period in your contract. The senior engineers who know your system stay, so a smaller team keeps the knowledge.
